Alex. What can I say? He’s not angsty, troubled or a bad boy, though he rides a bike like one. He’s calm, collected, intelligent, inscrutable, sensitive. In my mind he’s a composite of a few people beautifully sewn together and then supplemented by the riches of my imagination. Originally my inspiration was drawn from Alex Skarsgard (I know, I know he’s way too old for the role) but I fell in love with his character in Generation Kill. That’s why the character’s called Alex. Fact.
Alex’s eyes though, that stunning ice blue colour with the amber flecks (recall those?) they belong to my husband John. And also for Alex I had in mind Chad Michael Murray (Lucas from One Tree Hill). I did write this back in 2009.
